Style beats record

A record tells you how often somebody wins. A style tells you how. A wrestler against a striker is a different question from a striker against a striker, and the method market is priced on that matchup rather than on the two records side by side. Weight cuts matter as well — a fighter moving up or down a division is not the same fighter, and short-notice replacements rarely produce the fight the odds were originally set for.
